Privacy Policy (English)
Bounce Path ("the App") is an arcade puzzle game developed and operated by Steven Huang ("we", "our", or "us"), an individual developer. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have. By installing or using Bounce Path, you agree to the practices described below.
We have intentionally designed Bounce Path to collect as little personal data as possible. The App does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, password, contacts, photos, microphone audio, or precise (GPS) location.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Choose to Provide
- Nickname (optional). If you choose to appear on the global leaderboard, you may enter a display nickname (1–12 characters). The nickname is free-form text that you type. If you skip this step, the App generates an anonymous placeholder name (e.g.,
Guest_xxxxxx). Please do not enter your real name, email, or any personal information in your nickname, because nicknames are publicly visible to other players (see Section 4).
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Anonymous game identifier. When you first launch the App, we use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous user ID. This identifier is generated automatically by Google's Firebase service. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any social account, and it is used solely to associate your leaderboard entry and game progress with your device.
- Country/region code. We derive a 2-letter country/region code from your device's language and region settings (for example, "TW", "US", "JP"). This is not GPS or precise location data — it is only the locale your device is configured to use, and it is used to display regional context on the leaderboard.
- Best level cleared. The highest level number you have completed is recorded so it can be shown on the leaderboard.
- Advertising identifiers. To show ads, the App and our advertising partner may access your device's advertising identifier (the Advertising ID on Android and the Identifier for Advertisers / IDFA on iOS). On iOS, the IDFA is only accessed for cross-app tracking if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt (see Section 6).
- Ad interaction data. When ads are displayed, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) may collect data such as ad impressions, clicks, approximate location (derived from IP address), device type, and operating system, in accordance with their own privacy policy.
- IP address (for fonts). The App loads display fonts at runtime from Google's font service (
fonts.gstatic.com). As with any network request, this transmits your device's IP address to Google when fonts are first loaded.
1.3 Information Stored Only on Your Device
The following information is stored locally on your device (in the App's private storage area) and is never uploaded to us or any third party:
- Game progress: your current level and the set of levels you have cleared.
- App settings: haptic-feedback preference and visual-effect (CRT) preference.
- Leaderboard state: your chosen nickname, region code, and which best score has already been uploaded.
- In-app review counters: an internal counter and flag used to decide whether to show the system "Rate this app" prompt.
This local data is removed when you uninstall the App.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the limited information described above only to:
- Operate the core gameplay and save your progress on your device.
- Maintain a global leaderboard so players can compare their best levels (using nickname, region code, and best level).
- Display advertisements to support the App.
- Show the system-provided "Rate this app" prompt at an appropriate moment.
- Maintain the security and integrity of the leaderboard (our database rules only allow each device to write to its own anonymous record and only allow scores to increase).
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles ourselves, and we do not sell your personal information.

The App relies on the following third-party services, each of which processes data under its own privacy policy:

4. Public Visibility of Leaderboard Data
Important: The global leaderboard is public. Your nickname, region code, and best level cleared can be viewed by any other player of the App. Your anonymous identifier is not displayed to other users, but the nickname you choose is. Because of this, you should not include any information that personally identifies you in your nickname. If you do not wish to appear on the leaderboard, you may skip setting a nickname.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We share information only as follows:
- Advertising partner. Advertising identifiers and ad-interaction data are shared with Google AdMob to deliver and measure ads. Whether ads are personalized depends on your consent and tracking choices (see Section 6).
- Service providers. Leaderboard data is stored on Google's Firebase/Cloud Firestore infrastructure, which processes it on our behalf.
- Other players. As described in Section 4, leaderboard nickname, region, and best level are publicly visible.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required to do so by law or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of the App and its users.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers.
6. Advertising and Your Choices
Bounce Path displays banner ads through Google AdMob. We do not currently use interstitial or rewarded ads.
- iOS — App Tracking Transparency (ATT). On iOS, the App presents Apple's tracking-permission prompt. If you do not grant permission, ads are requested on a non-personalized basis (no cross-app tracking via IDFA). You can change this choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.
- EEA / UK — Consent. Where required, the App presents a Google UMP consent form to obtain your choices for ad personalization before personalized ads are served.
- Android. You can reset or limit ad personalization in Settings → Google → Ads on your device.
- Ad content rating. Ads are requested at a general-audience content rating ("G").
7. Data Storage, Security, and International Transfers
- Local data is stored on your device only.
- Leaderboard data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore. Because Google operates infrastructure globally, your leaderboard data (nickname, region code, best level, timestamp) may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where such transfers occur, they are subject to Google's safeguards as described in Google's privacy documentation.
- We rely on the security measures provided by Google's platforms, and our database access rules restrict writes so that each device can only modify its own anonymous record.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
- Local data persists on your device until you uninstall the App, which removes it.
- Leaderboard data (your anonymous record containing nickname, region code, best level, and timestamp) is retained on the leaderboard for as long as the leaderboard is operated, so that scores remain comparable over time.
- The App does not currently provide an in-app button to delete your leaderboard entry. If you would like your leaderboard record removed, please contact us at the email address in Section 11 and we will remove it. Because leaderboard records are anonymous, please include the nickname (and approximate score/region) you used so we can identify the correct entry.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Because the App does not collect directly identifying personal information from you, some of these rights may have limited practical application. Nevertheless, depending on where you live, you may have the following rights, which you can exercise by contacting us (Section 11):
9.1 All Users
- Ask what information is associated with your device.
- Request correction of your leaderboard nickname or region.
- Request deletion of your leaderboard entry.
- Withdraw advertising consent (via the device controls described in Section 6).
9.2 European Economic Area & United Kingdom (GDPR)
You additionally have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases for processing are your consent (for personalized advertising) and our legitimate interests (operating an anonymous leaderboard and supporting the App through advertising).
9.3 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information. You will not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
9.4 Taiwan (Personal Data Protection Act, 個人資料保護法)
You have the right to inquire about and review your personal data, to request a copy, to request correction or supplementation, to request that we cease collecting, processing, or using your data, and to request deletion.
10. Children's Privacy
Bounce Path is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Ads are configured for a general-audience ("G") content rating. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

4. 排行榜資料的公開性
重要：全球排行榜為公開。您的暱稱、地區代碼與已通關最高關卡可被本 App 的其他玩家檢視。您的匿名識別碼不會顯示給其他使用者，但您所選擇的暱稱會。因此，請勿在暱稱中包含任何能識別您個人身分的資訊。若您不希望出現在排行榜上，可略過設定暱稱。

6. 廣告與您的選擇
Bounce Path 透過 Google AdMob 顯示橫幅廣告，目前未使用插頁式或獎勵式廣告。
- iOS——App 追蹤透明度（ATT）。iOS 上，本 App 會顯示 Apple 的追蹤權限提示。若您不授權，廣告將以非個人化方式請求（不透過 IDFA 進行跨 App 追蹤）。您可隨時在裝置上的「設定 → 隱私權與安全性 → 追蹤」變更此選擇。

8. 資料保留與刪除
